This weekend I’ve played at a 40th birthday in Hassocks and a wedding at the very beautiful Newick Park Hotel in Newick, Sussex which is in the AA guides top 200 Hotels list.

Last night I played for Felicity and Scott on their wedding day at the beautiful Pangdean Barn venue in Pyecombe. Their first dance was Patrick Swayze ‘She’s Like The Wind’ well that’s what everyone thought until it kicked into The Timewarp, then into Sugarhill Gang’s ‘Apache’ then bang back into ‘She’s Like The Wind’. It was great to see the crowd’s reaction to this medley.

Just back from Butlins where I took the littl’ns to see their heroes Barney, Pingu and other ‘Rock Star status’ childrens characters. Now back to sending out the booking agreements for weddings planned for next year.

One very busy weekend. 1 party last night , 1 today and another tomorrow. Ending the party last night with ‘Ace of Spades’ by Motorhead was a winner, the place went crazy!

Today I attended the South Eastern Discotheque Associations SEDABuzz day, a day of seminars on perfecting the art of the wedding day, going digital, creative lighting, and mixing. It was a brilliant day and there is nothing like bettering yourself.

I’ve just received my copy of the Sussex 2011/2012 edition of Planning Your Wedding Magazine which I have an ad in, I’m very pleased as the magazine looks very professional.

Who’d have thought that you could DJ in a marquee on October 8th and not freeze, didn’t even have to put a jacket on. It was a really good night, a great crowd that danced all night.

Hotsteppaz will be providing the Halloween disco for the Save Saltdean Lido Campaign, the Under 12′s party 3pm-5pm then the adults disco from 7.30 – 12 midnight. Come along and help to save the Lido.

Tonight I was told to turn down after 12am but it was not that the music was too loud, it was because the songs were so catchy (Fat Les- Vindaloo, Jeff Beck – Hi Ho Silver Lining, Proclaimers – 500 miles etc) everyone there was singing at the top of their voices!

Congratulations to Karen and Neil on their 10th wedding anniversary, it was great to get to play some 80s classics, especially Gary Numan – Cars and New Order – Blue Monday.

Great night, The GP summer Ball at the Brighton Metropole, I played background music for the meal, I also supplied the guitar amp for the duo who played a 40 minute set then played the charts, some classics and a whole lot of soul for the rest of the night
